Doors Open: 11am (for brunch, coffees and to get the best seat) Concert: 12pmEntry: Free (no ticket required).Pay what you think the concert is worth on the way out(suggested donation £8) Our resident harpist Olivia Jageurs will be joined by members from the Hermes Experiment including Heloise Werner (soprano), Oli Pashley (clarinet) and Marianne Schofield (double bass). In their one-off joined performance at the Underdog Gallery in April, they will play original compositions commissioned by members of the Hermes Experimental including Josephine Stephenson, Emily Hall and Misha Mullov-Abbado, and arrangements of music by Meredith Monk and Handel. The Hermes Experiment is a contemporary quartet made up of harp, clarinet, voice and double bass. Capitalising on their deliberately idiosyncratic combination of instruments, the ensemble regularly commissions new works, as well as creating their own innovative arrangements and venturing into live free improvisation. So far, the ensemble has commissioned 36 composers at various stages of their careers. As mentioned by Evenining Standard ‘The combination of harp, clarinet, voice and double bass is not one you hear every day, but in the right hands it works brilliantly’. Bachn & Eggs is a series of monthly Classical Sunday Brunch Concerts at the Underdog Gallery, London Bridge. Come and hear UK’s top classical musicians perform a programme of chamber music in one of the station's last remaining original railway arches.
